Recently I was asked in an email about the inspiration for my work. This made me think; I felt like I had to dig a little deeper, also to clarify this question for myself. I then expanded the question questioning my motivation for doing what I do.
I believe that we are living in two worlds – one is the visible, material world that surrounds us and makes us struggle at times, the other is the invisible true nature of things, which is beauty, and on a deeper level, Love. My goal is to make the inherent beauty of all things more visible in my art; to bring out a deeper vision and understanding of the underlying mystery of things.
For this goal, I utilize the various techniques that image editing gives us, and constantly try to evolve my working style. While some people may argue that my edited photographs are not a true representation of reality and therefore fake or just creating illusions, I believe that they do try to represent a certain reality – just a reality which is invisible to the eye.
